Federal Recycling & Waste Solutions Acquires Harrisburg Waste Paper Co.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. Federal Recycling & Waste Solutions announced today its acquisition of Harrisburg Waste Paper Co. of Harrisburg, Pa. With this acquisition and new footprint in the East region of the United States, Federal Recycling furthers its position as one of the premier, largest independent recycling companies in the country.

“This is an exciting step to further grow our organization and provide our customers with enhanced services and expertise,” said Sam Still, President & CEO of Federal Recycling. “We are pleased to welcome the Harrisburg team to Federal Recycling and combine our longevity within the recycling industry and exceptional family-owned operations and culture.”

Founded in 1904 by Abe Freedman, Harrisburg Waste Paper Co. has serviced the greater central Pennsylvania region for 100+ years. The company’s strategic location provides Federal Recycling with increased accessibility to new customers in the East and support for the firm’s brokerage activities, both domestic and international.

Aaron Freedman, a fourth-generation family owner of Harrisburg Waste Paper Co., will continue to oversee plant operations as general manager. Freedman has 25 years’ experience in the recycling industry.
