Waste Connections, parent company of Seneca Meadows, have entered a request to extend operations at the landfill until 2040.

The law firm representing Seneca Meadows sent a cease-and-desist letter to environmental group Seneca Guardians who has spoken out in opposition of the landfill.

"Seneca Meadows respects Seneca Lake Guardian’s right to oppose the Landfill. The recent letter sent to the organization acknowledges this, but documents in detail numerous defamatory, false, and misleading statements Seneca Lake Guardian has repeatedly published about Seneca Meadows," the company wrote in a response to the organization.
