Welcome back to WasteExpo, North America’s leading solid waste, recycling and organics event. It begins today in Las Vegas and runs through Wednesday, June 30. This much-anticipated conference and tradeshow features hundreds of exhibitors and will welcome thousands of participants for this annual industry reunion.

WasteExpo 2021 is packed with education and insights for attendees to expand their industry knowledge, including a plethora of new and exciting conference sessions, forums and events, including:

  • Waste360 Sustainability Talks: Join us for real talk as the waste and recycling industry takes on plastics, packaging, and other environmental challenges – and our role in building a sustainable future. You can still add this to your registration at wasteexpo.com.

  • The Waste360/Stifel Investor Summit is being held on June 28. This unique day of learning and analysis provides attendees with insights into the factors influencing the behavior of operating companies. Michael E. Hoffman, a 30-year Wall Street veteran, will interview the senior leadership of the premier public and private companies in solid waste, industrial waste and energy waste.

  • Waste360 Business Leadership Forum:  The Waste360 Business Leadership Forum, hosted by Comerica Bank, is designed for small to midsized environmental services companies looking for business and financial strategies that go beyond day-to-day operations. 

  • The Food Recovery Forum is back by popular demand, focusing on efforts and solutions that reduce, rescue and recover food waste.

  • Nothing Wasted! Talks: With NothingWasted!, you’ll experience an open forum for new ideas. These sessions will deliver inspired talks from an array of thought leaders and visionaries.

  • Find the right solutions to your healthcare waste needs at the Waste360 Healthcare Waste Conference. It focuses on the regulatory, legislative and technical issues that affect the healthcare waste industry and it is the only annual conference in the U.S. strictly devoted to healthcare waste.

  • Also returning are the free Spotlight sessions, which are open to all attendees, including:

    • A one-on-one chat with Worthing Jackson, CEO of Waste Connections, will be held on Tuesday, June 29 from 10:15 a.m. PT. He will discuss business insight, leadership, timely industry issues and more.

    • Broken Phones and Used Cars: the Future of Recycling and Reuse Becomes the Past with Adam Minter, author and Bloomberg Opinion columnist on Wednesday, June 30 at 10:30 a.m. PT. Minter will use his signature combination of photos and anecdotes to lay out how some of the world's biggest retailers are nudging consumers into rethinking waste and recycling, and setting up new forms of competition for traditional recyclers.

    • The Waste & Recycling Industry Employment Outlook – The National Waste & Recycling Association Women’s Council is bringing together the industry’s most influential human resource leaders on Tuesday, June 29 from 11:30 a.m. PT until 1:00 p.m. PT. This expert panel will share their collective knowledge on topics such as talent acquisition, workforce development, employee retention, diversity and inclusion, working amid COVID-19 and more.

    • Opportunities & Challenges of Refuse Fleet Electrification – What We’ve Learned – Join this lively discussion on Tuesday, June 29 at 2:30 p.m. PT to hear what New York and Los Angeles have learned and get answers to your questions that will help you on your pathway to fleet electrification.

  • Silent and live auctions hosted by the Environmental Research & Education Foundation (EREF) are being held virtually this year. Since 1994, the auction has raised more than $20 million to further EREF’s mission to fund and direct scientific research and educational initiatives for waste management practices.

  • Mack Truck Ride & Drive on Tuesday, June 29 & Wednesday, June 30
    9:00 am - 11:00 a.m. PT. Located in Silver Lot 1A & 1B, in front of the Central Hall entrance of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Test drive one of the refuse trucks and see how its design was inspired by their customer’s desire for the best truck for their operations, with superior maneuverability, visibility and ergonomics.

  • Rehrig Pacific Mobile RISE on Tuesday, June 29 and Wednesday, June 30
    10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Located outside of the Las Vegas Convention Center, Rehrig Pacific will have its Mobile RISE Center, available for you to explore. The Mobile RISE Center is housed in a 53' semi-trailer that expands to create a collaborative meeting space that  features its storied history, current capabilities, and highlights the design innovations they are working on.
