2. How Portland Maine’s Compost Drop Offs Are Working

With a goal of zero waste by 2050, the New England community of Portland, Maine has implemented several aggressive waste aversion practices; perhaps the most successful of which being food scrap drop-off and composition services. In 2021 five 24/7 drop-off locations were opened with three more scheduled to open this year. The program collects roughly 15 tons of waste each month.

5. Waste and Recycling Fire Season Has Officially Started, May 2022 Sees Most Fires Ever
