A proposed waste-to-energy incinerator was pulled from a Miami-Dade Commission meeting this week and deferred to next year.

A new waste-to-energy incinerator has been long discussed in the community since the last incinerator burned down almost two years ago. At the meeting, residents and city leaders were prepared to protest the new incinerator due to its proposed location near the Everglades.

Now, the item will be discussed and voted on in January 2025.
