Feeding America is leading a conversation around food rescue this Earth Day in an effort to eliminate food waste. It's bringing attention to some of the innovative food rescue programs across the country, and highlighting how these programs can help reduce food waste and alleviate widespread hunger.
On April 22, New York City will open up 30 blocks of Broadway for residents and visitors, creating a car-free area that stretches from Union Square to Times Square. Additionally, a portion of St. Nicholas Avenue between West 181st and 190th streets will also be car-free between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. As part of this year's initiative, Citi Bike is offering free day passes.
