Lexington, Ky. recycling center reopens after being closed due to an equipment and building upgrade.

The recycling center closed on December 4 so that workers could replace the baler and the building’s fabric roof for the tipping floor, both of which were reaching the end of their lifecycles.

“These were planned projects. We were planning on replacing this baler because it had kind of reached its end of its lifespan. And so, we got probably about 14 years out of this baler,” said Julie Hatter, plant manager.
