The city of New Orleans is delaying waste collection services this week as it deals with a rare winter storm.

Several areas across the southeast area of the United States are experiencing a rare winter storm which is seeing snowfall in uncommon areas. Parts of the Gulf South are experiencing sleet, and freezing rain, and should see several inches of snow over the next day.

As a result of the weather, New Orleans waste and recycling services were canceled yesterday, and will not be collected today. Collections are expected to resume on Thursday and then run two days behind schedule through the rest of the week.
