A new waste management company has taken over services in Buncombe County, N.C., and has been hit with hundreds of complaints in its first week.

A new waste management company has taken over services in Buncombe County, N.C., and has been hit with hundreds of complaints in its first week.

Between January 2 and January 9, FCC Environmental has had 389 complaints filed against it. The complaints stemmed from several issues, but the main reasons were bin delivery, missing waste, and recycling collections.

"Transitions like these are not as simple as they may seem, and we are committed to ensuring high-quality service for all 38,500 customers,” said Buncombe County in a statement.

“During changes of this scale, it is typical for a new company to undergo a transitional period where crews learn updated schedules, new routes and procedures.”
