Waste Connections, Folsom, Calif., has acquired Harold LeMay Enterprises, Tacoma, Wash. The transaction is expected to close in fourth-quarter 2008 and is subject to regulatory approval.
“This represents the single largest acquisition for Waste Connections and solidifies our leading position in Washington,” said Ronald J. Mittelstaedt, chairman and CEO of Waste Connections, in a press release. “LeMay is one of the oldest and most respected solid waste services companies in the country. We recognize the trust the LeMay family has placed in us to carry forward its commitments to both their employees and the communities [it serves].”
As part of the deal, Waste Connections also has acquired the remaining interests in Pierce County Recycling, Composting and Disposal, which already was a majority-owned subsidiary of Waste Connections.
