Residents in Yakima, WA are throwing away more garbage than usual and it’s creating an unusual problem. They are experiencing a shortage of large garbage containers.
Beginning in February 2020, the city’s Solid Waste Division has seen an 11 percent increase in the garbage generated by residents and many residents are requesting 96-gallon containers. The city is only able to offer residents two 32-gallon carts for the same price as the larger 96-gallon cart.
