Some residents in Madison, Wis. will have their trash pickups today delayed due to the extreme cold the city is currently facing.

Wind chills are making the area feel negative 30 degrees, and staff safety is a priority for the city. The extreme cold prevents the city from using its rear-loading style vehicles today, leaving them only with automated-style collection trucks on the roads. Fewer trucks on the roads means crews may not be able to finish all routes today.

However, crews will return on Wednesday to finish routes and service any households they missed due to the weather.
