Fast Fashion's Continued Impact on the Waste Stream

According to the EPA, Americans produce 12 times as much clothing waste now as they did in 1960. This is largely due to the evolution of the fast fashion industry and its popularity.

The fabric commonly used by fast fashion providers is likely to remain in landfills for up to 200 years. With only about one percent of all fabric waste being recycled, a striking majority is sent to landfills where they can remain for hundreds of years.
