WasteWise Lane County, Oregon is encouraging residents to live more sustainably this holiday season.
Along with recycling tips, the agency is providing tips for zero-waste gifting, including:
Make bath or beauty supplies.
Sew something wonderful.
Plant a seed.
Record yourself reading a book.
In addition, WasteWise recommended some DIY gift wrapping tips, including decorating cereal, shoe or other boxes to use as gift boxes; using comics, maps, posters or fabric wrapping; and packaging gifts in mason jars. Giving a gift to a local business is also low waste and supports small businesses.
