By 2050, the total amount of waste generated is expected to hit 110 million tons, 20% of which is expected to be plastic. 

Industrial designers at Google have been merging recycled plastic into their line of products. This week, Google launched a new Pixel phone case made from 70% recycled plastic. Just two water bottles can generate enough plastic to create five cases.
