Episode 24: The Basics of Becoming a B Corp

Transparency, accountability, social impact. As companies around the world strive to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability, many have looked to additional avenues of certification.
Nonprofit B Lab has created a set of standards that verifies the efforts of companies working to create an "inclusive, equitable and regenerative economic system for all people and the planet." Companies that meet these standards are designated as B Corps.
AI-enabled waste metering company Compology recently achieved this certification, joining nearly 4,000 companies across 74 nations in their quests to become leaders in sustainability. Compology's B Corp certification highlights not only the company's efforts to promote social good internally, but also showcases the company's mission to help other companies and cities meet their sustainability goals while driving cost-savings, according to the company.
In this episode of Stef Talks Trash, Compology CEO Jason Gates talks becoming a B Corp and what that means in the waste industry.
