Birchbox Launches Re.fil, a Refillable Beauty Brand
Birchbox monthly deliveries arrive in brightly colored shipper boxes, which function as a Pavlovian cue to make consumers say, “Fantastic! My Birchbox is here!”

The monthly beauty subscription service, Birchbox, has launched a private label product, called Re.fil, that is focused on creating refillable beauty products.

Birchbox is known for its sample-sized subscription service. Re.fil “rethinks everyday beauty staples with clean products” and can be refilled. Re.fil’s first product is a lip and multipurpose balm called Beauty Balm, which is 95 percent reusable and sold in refillable cases made of recycled plastic recovered from consumers. Refills are sold on the Birchbox website.

Re.fil was introduced to customers in April.
