When the National Waste & Recycling Association’s (NW&RA) predecessor was formed in 1962, the primary reason was so haulers could get together to lobby state and local governments on waste issues. Fifty-two years later, these activities remain a core part of the NW&RA’s mission and are among the leading reasons why waste and recycling companies throughout the United States join our group.
