Salt Lake County Starts Campaign to Boost Recycling by 20 Percent

Article-Salt Lake County Starts Campaign to Boost Recycling by 20 Percent

Salt Lake County hopes to increase its recycling by 20 percent during the next year.

Mayor Ben McAdams has introduced a new countywide recycling awareness campaign, with the tagline, “Start a new cycle – Recycle,” according to a news release.

McAdams said if the county reaches its goal then it would match the national average for recycling.

The campaign will involve posters at community facilities and on waste and recycling trucks to explain how easy it is to participate.

The project is a joint effort between the county landfill and Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling, which collects recyclables.

“I know we can do this,” McAdams said. “Reaching this goal will be a win for our economy, a win for our wallets and a win for the environment.”
