Readers of The Greenville News reacted angrily to news that a company hopes to dump thousands of tons of coal ash in Pickens County, and the County Council put a resolution on the issue on the agenda for its meeting next Monday.

“I'm very concerned of the danger in how many of the people living in the area and beyond are going to become deadly sick!” Joel Rackley commented on the story posted on GreenvilleOnline.com

“They need to dump the coal ash in a more secluded area away from society or dump it in another country,” he wrote. “Anywhere but here!”

Richard Watson described the situation as, “Just another example of Elected Officials not taking care of their people and letting money dictate their decision making.
