Approval of Clean Harbors' landfill expansion, announced Friday by Ontario's environment ministry, is expected to add 25 years to the life of the site in St. Clair Township.
“It's fantastic news,” said Michael Parker, Clean Harbors' director of environmental compliance.
Friday's announcement states Environment and Climate Change Minister Glen Murray is satisfied the expansion will be conducted in a manner that is safe for the environment and the community.
