If you live in Montgomery, the green trash can in your driveway could be getting some company soon.

Later this year, Montgomery residents could have two city-issued trash cans – one for garbage and one for recyclables. Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange said that’s the most likely plan after the city reclaims the privately owned, $35 million recycling center that closed last fall.

The city has already started the foreclosure process on the center. An auction is scheduled for Wednesday at the Montgomery County Courthouse, but city officials said Thursday they’re negotiating with the company that owns Infinitus Renewable Energy Park to avoid the auction.
