A man was injured badly on Interstate 81 in Hazle Township on Tuesday afternoon when a collision tossed him from a garbage truck, which then ran into him and dragged him 41 feet, police said.
The 27-year-old man from Frackville was taken to a hospital trauma center for his injuries. State police at Hazleton did not release his name.
The accident happened at 3:30 p.m. when Peter Lengyel, 54, of Tamaqua, who was driving the garbage truck, rear-ended another truck at I-81 and Route 424, state Trooper Brian Pall said.
