Milpitas Sanitation, Milpitas, Calif.’s new waste collector, is introducing its new split-cart garbage and recycling carts and its billing system to residents who will be using its service come December 1, when the city’s 30-year waste collection and disposal contract with Republic Services ends.
With the new program, residents will be billed three months ahead instead of being billed after two months as previously done by Republic. Residents in single-family homes will pay a monthly fee of $32.22 for an extra small cart or $47.32 for a large cart, and seniors will pay half of those rates.
