Curbside Recycling Plan for Washington County, Utah, Could Get Vote

Washington County residents added 55,662 tons of trash to the local landfill in 2013, and with the local population expected to continue growing for the foreseeable future, elected leaders are considering a curbside recycling program to cut down on the waste.

How that program will operate, how much it will cost and whether residents will have a chance to opt out of the program and any associated fee increases could all be topics of conversation on Monday in a meeting of the administrative control board of the Washington County Solid Waste District.
