Young Artists in McLean Encouraged to Join Recycling Art Show

Pamela Saunders, an art teacher in McLean, Virginia, is encouraging local young artists to contribute to the city’s upcoming Earth Day festivities.

The outdoor children’s recycled art show, named “Art Alchemy” will display the children’s artwork in a drive-thru event as a part of McLean Earth Day on April 22. This featured display at the Mclean Community Center will feature different displays with the theme to create the faces of people or animals out of different materials such as magazine clippings, drawings, and yarn.

The submitted art must be made on a 12x12 piece of reused cardboard.

“This is a great opportunity for children to participate in a community art show, o be a part of something bigger, and to make an impact with their art,” Saunders said.
