As we spend more and more time at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we see that we create a lot of garbage. Hollie Velten-Lattrell, who runs a creative design studio in New Jersey, has an idea to repurpose all of your recycling – a “junk vessel.” It turns out, you don’t need to be an artist to turn trash and recycling into art – all you need is a little creativity!
It’s actually pretty simple. Go through your recyclables and find a vessel (or two) to create the form and glue it together. Then papier-mâché the vessel with newspaper and glue. Finally, paint and decorate it.
