Solar panels only have a life expectancy of about 20 years, meaning all of the panels installed at the beginning of this century are ready to be replaced.

Due to this, the amount of solar panel waste is set to skyrocket in the next few decades. This stark increase in decommissioned solar panels is expected to create an unprecedented waste problem, unless the the right thinkers develop proper methods for recycling all of the valuable material that makes up each panel. Several organizations are proving themselves as big contenders in the field of making the solar power industry more cirular.
