Recycling Contamination Rising in Dubois County, Indiana

Residents in Dubois County, Indiana need to be more careful about what they are putting in the recycling. According to the Dubois County Solid Waste District, recycling contamination is on the rise at eight of the Dubois County's recycling drop-off sites.

Contamination is considered anything in a recycling bin that is different from what should be recycled. For example, this could be plastics thrown into the cardboard or a bag of trash in the recycling bin.

Several years ago, the recycling contamination started to rise and disseminating information to residents helped reduce the contamination.
