As resident go back to the office, Milwaukee is seeing the benefits of its recycling efforts.

The city's recycling rate has increased 9 percent since it has moved to align its residential recycling pickup. Prior to the changes, recycling was collected every three weeks with 95-gallon carts.

Milwaukee switched to biweekly pickup for all one-to-four units in the city, among other changes, which has result in revenue growth as well.
