Hydros Launches National Filter Recycling Program with Terracycle

San Francisco, CA  - Hydros, the sustainable water-filtration startup, today announced the launch of its national recycling program in partnership with international recycling leader TerraCycle. Through the Hydros Recycling Envelope Program, all Hydros customers are provided with an easy and convenient way to recycle their used Hydros vessel filters, ensuring that they are diverted from the landfill.

Founded on the pillars of philanthropy and sustainability, Hydros works to tie annual ocean conservation support into their brand ethos by partnering each year with a charitable organization that works to protect, maintain, and rehabilitate our oceans. For 2021, Hydros is donating one percent of all net sales to Oceanic Global to help propel the work they are doing to shed light on humanity’s essential relationship to the ocean.

“Hydros has a long-term commitment to optimizing sustainability in every part of our business practices, so being able to partner with a global ocean conservancy and launch a nationwide filter recycling program felt like a natural next step for the brand,” said Winston Ibrahim CEO of Hydros. “We are devoted to deepening our sustainability efforts and we are excited to take the next steps alongside Oceanic Global and TerraCycle.”

Participation in the Hydros Recycling Envelope Program is free and easy, simply visit the TerraCycle program page at https://www.terracycle.com/en-US/brigades/hydros, complete the provided form to request your recycling envelope, once received, fill it with your used Hydros vessel filters, seal the envelope and affix the provided prepaid return label and drop it in the mail. Once received, the spent filters are cleaned, separated by material type, melted and remolded to make new recycled products such as composite decking and railroad ties.

“TerraCycle’s mission has always been to ‘Eliminate the Idea of Waste’ and, in turn, be kind to the planet,” said Tom Szaky, TerraCycle Founder and CEO. “By participating in the Hydros Recycling Envelope Program, consumers have a unique opportunity to demonstrate their respect for the environment by diverting their Hydros vessel filters from landfills.”

Hydros’ hydration vessels are available for purchase at select retailers nationwide, as well as online at https://hydroslife.com/.
