It’s Global Recycling Day and the Global Recycling Foundation is looking to further educate the public to think with a more sustainable outlook.

Today marks the 5th Anniversary of Global Recycling Day, established, and recognized by the UN, back in 2018 by the Global Recycling Foundation. The globally celebrated day aims to bring more and more awareness to the recycling effort and working to build a more circular economy.

This year, the Global Recycling Foundation is awarding several individuals, businesses, and even towns with the Recycling Heroes 2023 award. The honor looks to award those individuals or groups who have actively continued to recycle throughout the year. The top 10 entries will earn $1,000 for their recycling concepts and winners will be announced today, March 18.
