The highly anticipated urban bicycle made of 90 percent recycled plastic waste by igur and MTRL is expected to roll out late this year.

The project was inspired by a trip to Florida where the CEO of the motion plastics company igus was shocked by the short lifespan of standard urban bicycles due to corrosion. Each igur:bike, as the invention has been coined, is created with roughly 35 pounds of plastic waste and is expected to cost near $1,500. The bike is created with longevity in mind.

Its inventors mark this as a triumphant step towards the goal of a corrosion-free bicycle made of 100 percent recycled plastic.
