Utah City Wants Opt-Out Option in County Recycling Pact

Officials with Washington County’s largest city are throwing their weight behind a countywide curbside recycling program, but only if residents who don’t want to participate have a chance to opt out.

After two weeks of lengthy discussions and unofficial social media survey work with constituents, the five members of the St. George City Council are unanimously backing a plan that would give residents a one-time chance to opt out of the program if they didn’t want to pay the price increase or were otherwise opposed to curbside recycling.
