SWANA is Accepting Applications for 2018 Scholarships

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) announced that the Grant H. Flint Scholarship Program is accepting applications through May 1, 2018. The scholarship is designed to promote education within the solid waste industry.

SWANA will distribute up to $25,000 to this year’s recipients, and applications are accepted from high school seniors, undergraduates pursuing a degree related to solid waste management and full-time graduate students studying a related area.

“Supporting the education of students with the intention of attracting them to the solid waste and resource management industries has long been a SWANA mission,” said Darryl Walter, SWANA’s director of membership, in a statement. “This is another high-impact program that allows SWANA and its chapters to support students in their college and graduate efforts. We look forward to awarding scholarships to deserving applicants for 2018.”

High school students must be the children or grandchildren of current SWANA members in order to be eligible, and college and graduate students must be either SWANA members or sponsored by a SWANA member.
