Waste360/WasteExpo and NW&RA Announce Recycling-Focused Event for 2015

New York, September 9, 2014Penton’s Waste360/WasteExpo and the National Waste & Recycling Association (NW&RA), have announced that one year from today will be the launch of the Waste360 Recycling Summit.  It will be held on September 9-11 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago, Illinois.

This new event will serve the growing recycling industry, providing a dynamic and interactive forum for industry learning, discussion, and networking.  The 2015 Waste360 Recycling Summit will be a two-day event featuring panel discussions, in-depth topic sessions, professional networking opportunities, and exhibits featuring innovative solutions to help commercial and residential recycling enterprises achieve a robust ROI.

The Waste360 Recycling Summit will focus on the major issues, trends, and technologies driving today’s commercial and residential recycling industries and will provide both public- and private-sector recycling professionals with access to key thought leaders and leading-edge recycling manufacturers.  The goal is to deliver ideas and best practices for driving productivity, revenues, and profits in the quickly changing and competitive recycling marketplace.  A few of the topics to be addressed at the conference include: Managing Single Stream Recycling, The Evolving Ton, Sustainability, Educating Consumers, and Managing Public-Private Partnerships.  The event is open to public and private recycling operators, manufacturers and other recycling professionals allied with the industry.  Please visit waste360.com for more details soon.

“Our vision for the Waste360 Recycling Summit revolves around getting the recycling industry together with major generators of waste to identify issues, solve problems and explore products and technologies in the growing recycling industry,” said Warren N. Bimblick, Senior Vice President, Strategy and Business Development at Penton.  “Penton will draw on its huge database of waste generators, including restaurants, manufacturers, commercial real estate owners and retailers to attend the event and will include relevant information and research. Recent Waste360 research of recyclers and waste generators showed a number of challenges facing the recycling industry as well as interest in new technology and business models; this conference will deliver insight on and solutions for these complex issues.  We are delighted that the National Waste & Recycling Association has agreed to collaborate with us, just as they have at WasteExpo since 1997.”

Waste360 and WasteExpo have long served the $85 billion solid waste and recycling industry. Earlier this year the group acquired the assets of Waste & Recycling News (WRN), formerly a Crain Communications business, which brought its reach in the waste industry to more than 70,000 people. In addition to the recently launched Waste360 Recycling Business newsletter, Waste360 and WasteExpo will launch a series of digital products leading up to this exciting new event.

National Waste & Recycling Association President & CEO Sharon H. Kneiss added that, “The National Waste & Recycling Association is proud to partner with Waste360/WasteExpo in delivering a state-of-the-art conference on recycling.  Our Association helps our members achieve best practices, exemplary safety records, and strong ROI in their recycling operations.  Many of the 800 companies we represent  will greatly benefit from the education and networking opportunities available at the Recycling Summit.”
