Medical waste firm Stericycle Inc. has named Brent Arnold to serve as chief operating officer beginning Jan. 1.
The Lake Forest, Ill.-based Stericycle said Arnold, currently executive vice president and president, Stericycle USA/Canada, will succeed Richard Kogler as chief operating officer. Kogler will continue in his role through the transition and then serve Stericycle as senior vice president, International.
The changes are part of the company’s long-term executive succession planning, Stericycle said in a news release.
Arnold has served in his current position since April. He joined Stericycle in 2005 and has more than 24 years of experience, primarily focused in the healthcare industry.
"Brent has been a key contributor to Stericycle's growth over the past 10 years,” said Charles Alutto, Stericycle president and CEO.
Regarding Kogler, Alutto said, "Rich has provided great guidance and leadership through his many years at Stericycle. … We look forward to Rich continuing to lead our International efforts for years to come."
