Washington, D.C. — Federal Environmental Executive John Howard will resign his position, effective in mid-June. Howard’s office promotes sustainable environmental stewardship throughout the federal government. There has been no announcement regarding Howard’s replacement.

John Skinner, executive director and CEO of the Silver Spring, Md.-based Solid Waste Association of America, says Howard did a good job. "John brought the U.S. government closer to the public and private sectors that our members represent, and we all gained as a result. We wish him the best in all of his future endeavors."
