The Environmental Industry Associations (EIA) has named Sheila Alkire as its education director.
Alkire will work to develop in-person and e-learning programs for association members and others to fulfill training, education, certification and continuing education unit (CEU) requirements through association programs, the Washington-based EIA said in a news release.
Alkire brings 16 years of corporate training expertise to the EIA. Before joining the EIA, she was the training and rollout project manager for Freddie Mac, or the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp., where she oversaw all training, rollout and adoption activities of large-scale system enhancements in the multifamily housing division.
“With a strong background and expertise in leadership development, e-learning and knowledge management, Sheila will help build an industry-leading educational program to provide technical information about waste management technologies, including the engineering and use of landfills, recycling and composting and emerging technologies for waste reduction,” said Sharon Kneiss, EIA president and CEO.
