Starting next week, residents without organics containers in Nevade County, Cali. will receive green bins from WM as part of a new food waste collection service beginning next year.

Starting next week, residents without organics containers in Nevade County, Cali. will receive green bins from WM as part of a new food waste collection service beginning next year.

The new service will have WM customers working with a three-cart sorting system. Trash will go in bins with black lids, recyclables in bins with blue lids, and organics in bins with green lids. Organics will include food scraps, food soiled paper, and yard trimmings. Curbside collection for organics will begin on January 6, 2025.

Customers who don’t subscribe to WM will need to separate their materials and transport them to the McCourtney Road Transfer Station or another permitted facility, according to California Law.
