Board of Health members Tuesday made it known they oppose a move by Casella Waste Systems to expand the Southbridge landfill into Charlton.
“It’s not healthy today and it’s not going to be healthy down the road. We don’t want it,” member Willard Stevens said.
The Casella proposal to expand operations onto 5.2 acres it owns in Charlton will undergo multi-jurisdictional scrutiny and require local and state approval.
