An outside law firm, which will work on behalf of City of Milpitas as a possible litigator to eliminate airborne odor impacts here, was retained this week.
Milpitas City Council voted unanimously on consent Tuesday to approve a not-to-exceed $50,000 contract with Burke, Williams & Sorensen LLP to begin a legal analysis and potentially represent the city if a lawsuit arises against what the city deems a main odor-generating culprit -- the Newby Island Landfill and Resource Recovery Park at 1601 Dixon Landing Road, located across the border in San Jose.
