Livonia Township, Minn. – Waste Management Inc. (WMI), Houston, has donated $35,000 to a fundraising drive that will protect the Sugarbush Preserve, 40 acres of old-growth forest in Livonia Township. WMI is one of several groups participating in the fundraiser. The city of Livonia will own and manage the area once fundraising is complete and will open it to the public for hiking and other outdoor activities. "Waste Management is committed to contributing to projects that benefit the communities it serves," WMI Market Area Vice President Steve Batchelor said in a press release.
