Columbus, Ohio -- The Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) has announced a contract with R.B. Jergens Contractors Inc. to construct a landfill gas (LFG) collection system to capture methane and carbon dioxide gases generated at the Franklin County sanitary landfill.

The contract is worth $1.1 million. When completed, gases extracted from the landfill will be purchased, processed and marketed by Alcohol Solutions Inc. for industrial use.
