Scientists Report CCA-Treated Wood is Safe

Cambridge, Mass. -- Scientific analysis by Gradient Corp. concludes that there is no undue health risk from the use of chromated copper arsenate (CCA)-treated wood. The human health risk assessment (HHRA) covered scenarios such as incidental ingestion and dermal exposure and focused primarily on playgrounds using CCA-treated wood. The analysis did not, however, mention potential risks involved with CCA-treated wood and unlined landfills.
