Anti-Terrorist Devices Created for Trucks

California -- California state officials have introduced a device that could stop terrorists from using stolen trucks as weapons. The deveice, designed by researchers at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, would enable law enforcement officers to lock the brakes of the truck by tapping the rear of the truck with their patrol cars.

Trucking industry leaders said that they are in favor of the device but worry that others may be able to lock the brakes. The devices would be installed on trucks carrying hazardous materials such as natural gas and gasoline, and would cost about $200 each.
