Veolia ES Solid Waste Buys Southern Georgia Hauler

Milwaukee-based Veolia ES Solid Waste has purchased Valdosta, Ga.-based Milo Sanitation. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition will add 4,000 residential customers and 60 commercial customers to Veolia’s existing operations in the area. The waste collected from the new customers will be disposed of at the Veolia ES Evergreen Landfill in Valdosta.

All Milo Sanitation employees have been offered positions with Veolia ES Solid Waste.

“The acquisition of these assets is consistent with our strategy to expand our operations in the southern Georgia region, and we were pleased to offer existing Milo Sanitation employees the opportunity to become a part of Veolia,” said Jim Long, president and CEO of Veolia ES Solid Waste, in a press release.
