Safety-Kleen CEO to Retire at Year’s End

Frederick J. Florjancic, president and CEO of Plano, Texas-based Safety-Kleen, will retire on Dec. 31. He became the head of the company in June 2004, just after Safety-Kleen emerged from bankruptcy.

“During his tenure, Florjancic helped restore operational stability, completed two re-financings of the company’s debt, resulting in significant interest savings, and grew company revenues by almost 50 percent, from approximately $860 million in 2004 to approximately $1.2 billion in 2008,” according to a company press release.

“After a 40-year business career, the last six leading Safety-Kleen, I have decided to retire,” Florjancic said in the press release. “It has truly been a pleasure and privilege to work with the men and women of Safety-Kleen to help conserve scarce resources through recycling and to provide the highest quality products and services in the environmental service industry. I’m very proud to have been a part of a great organization.”
