Republic Services Agrees to Buy Evergreen Recycling

Republic Services has reached an agreement to purchase Evergreen Recycling, a Las Vegas-based provider of commercial recycling services. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“This merger will establish new milestones, service offerings and make significant impacts to Southern Nevada’s recycling rates,” said Rob Dorinson, president of Evergreen Recycling, in a statement.

“With the Evergreen acquisition, Republic Services takes a giant step closer to providing the most comprehensive residential and commercial recycling programs in the Southwest, with a goal of reaching the highest waste diversion rates possible,” added Bob Coyle, vice president of government relations and public affairs for Republic Services of Southern Nevada. “We are very pleased that Rob Dorinson and his team decided to unite with Republic Services.”

Dorinson and Evergreen CEO Len Christopher will remain with the merged operations.
