The RecycleBank recycling program, in which households earn rewards for recycling, has been launched in Derby, Kan.

Derby contracted with Folsom, Calif.-based Waste Connections in July to provide trash and curbside recycling services. Waste Connections will begin delivering 95-gallon recycling carts to residences this week, and the hauler will track the amount that each household recycles.

Through the RecycleBank program, households earn points based on how much they recycle. The points are redeemable as discounts at stores and restaurants.
